Privacy Policy

Toolzen is a family of free, browser-based tools built by Dot2Shape. This page explains, in plain language, what data is involved when you use toolzen.app, its tools (SecurePass, WordWise, Compresso, Stampo, PawAge, Investo, Humanly, Ovulo, Clocked) and the blog.

The short version

Our tools do the actual work — generating passwords, counting words, compressing images, creating signatures, calculating pet ages, running investment maths — entirely in your browser. Your passwords, text, and images are never uploaded to our servers or anyone else's. There are no accounts and nothing to sign up for.

To be precise about what "private" means here: whatever you type into a tool (a password, your text, a date, an image) is processed on your device and never sent to us. How you move around the site itself (which pages you open, where you click, how far you scroll) is measured so we can improve it. Those are two separate things, and the second never includes the first.

What we do collect

  • Standard server logs. Like any website, our host (Hostinger) automatically logs basic technical data — IP address, browser type, timestamps — for security and performance. We don't use this to identify individuals.
  • Anonymous visit counts. We track aggregate page-view counts per tool so we know what's popular. No personal identifiers are attached.
  • How pages are used. Anonymised interaction data — clicks, scrolling, and session replays with all text and form inputs masked — so we can spot confusing layouts and steps that break. This is collected by Microsoft Clarity, described under third-party services below.
  • A theme preference. If you switch between light and dark mode, that choice is saved locally in your browser (via localStorage). It never leaves your device.

Advertising

Toolzen is supported by advertising. When ads are active, Google AdSense and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure ad performance.

  • You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings or via aboutads.info.
  • Visitors in the EU, EEA, and UK are shown a consent choice before any personalized-ads cookie is set, in line with Google's certified consent management requirements.

Third-party services we use

  • Microsoft Clarity — shows us how pages are actually used, through click and scroll heatmaps and anonymised session replays, so we can find confusing layouts and broken steps. Clarity masks all text and form inputs by default, so anything you type into a tool is never captured or sent. For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, Clarity does not set cookies unless you consent. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
  • Google Analytics 4 — anonymous, aggregated traffic measurement: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device they use. We never send it anything you type into a tool. For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, no analytics cookies are set unless you consent.
  • Google AdSense — for advertising and related measurement, once enabled.
  • Hostinger — our web hosting provider.

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data; we don't control their practices beyond what's described here.

Children's privacy

Toolzen is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any data associated with you. Since we don't run accounts or store personal profiles, there's typically nothing to delete beyond what's described above — but if you have a specific request, email us and we'll respond.

Data security

The site is served entirely over HTTPS. Because our tools process everything client-side and we don't operate user accounts, there are no passwords or personal files stored on our servers to protect in the first place.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as Toolzen grows — for example when a new tool launches or our advertising setup changes. The "last updated" date at the top will always reflect the latest version.

Toolzen Quick Tools (Chrome Extension)

This extension runs entirely on your device. It makes no network requests and sends no data anywhere. chrome.storage.local is used only to remember your last-used tab and inputs locally, for your convenience between sessions. Uninstalling the extension removes this data.

Questions about this policy or a specific data request? Email support@toolzen.app — we read every message.
